began studying massage therapies in the 1970s and has been a professional massage therapist and bodyworker since 1994. She is a licensed, registered nurse with sixteen years of experience in hospital and outpatient medical settings. Prema has provided educational training, workshops and lectures to professionals for twenty years.

Her comprehensive massage training includes lomilomi, manual lymphatic drainage, neuromuscular therapy, shiatsu, sports, Swedish, Thai massage and certification in reflexology and pregnancy massage. Prema's advanced training includes somatoemotional release and over twenty years of experience with craniosacral therapy - both modalities with the John Upledger Foundation. She has also been initiated in the second degree of Reiki Usui System of Natural Healing.

Prema is licensed by the state of Michigan and is certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), Reflexology Association of Canada, Chicago School of Massage Therapy for prenatal and postpartum massage, and has advanced certification for pregnancy massage with Body Therapy Associates. She also is certified for myofacsial and neuromuscular therapy by Chicago School of Massage and Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy.

Prema Lindsay Smith is also a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).
